In response to rising sea-levels and an increased frequency in higher intensity storms the Governor of Florida signed into action Section 161.551, Florida Statutes. Effective July 1, 2021, the law requires all state financed major construction in the coastal building zone to conduct a sea level impact projection (SLIP) study prior to commencement. Taylor Engineering designed and developed the SLIP web application which creates a standardized SLIP study as described in the F.S., which is user-friendly and requires minimal time commitment by the user. Additionally, the information presented can viewed by the public to understand coastal flooding within the state of Florida.
