Coastal Strategies

Taylor Engineering’s Coastal Strategies Group provides a variety of activities including developing the next advancements in coastal and riverine flood resiliency—moving communities from planning to action.

Communities must plan and act on those plans. So, they need not only plans and strategies, but they also need funding and resources to put those plans into action. Our team has helped communities successfully submit for Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants to build resilient communities.

Within resilience planning, services include coastal vulnerability assessments, sea level rise adaptation strategies, natural and nature-based solutions (such as living shorelines), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services, web-based application development, and story maps. Our group includes coastal engineers, geographers, and software developers who have a passion for solving challenging problems and creating impactful long-lasting solutions which benefit our clients for years to come.

Taylor Engineering can help clients define what a more resilient community looks like, by adapting vulnerable infrastructure and providing quicker recovery from flood events. Whether the floods are created by storm surge, extreme high tides, or heavy rains, our team will research the vulnerabilities and design one or multiple systems to work together as an integrated solution.

Services include:
