Dredging & Navigation

Taylor Engineering’s Dredging & Navigation Group has successfully completed a diverse range of dredging-related projects from design, permitting, and construction of dredged material management facilities to navigation, beach re-nourishment, land reclamation, marine engineering, ports, channel deepening, and construction projects.

Our experience with dredging-related activities spans the company’s entire history. For example, since 1987, Taylor Engineering has worked with the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to prepare and implement (i.e., locate, design, construct, and operate) long-term dredged material management plans for the Florida Intracoastal Waterway (IWW). We have also managed multiple hydraulic dredging and dredged material management area (DMMA) construction projects.

Each project requires large-scale collection, analysis, and incorporation of bathymetric, geotechnical, natural resources, and sediment chemistry data. In addition to serving as the FIND engineer-of-record, we also currently serve in a similar role to the St. Augustine Port, Waterway & Beach District (since 1991), Volusia County (since 1988), Martin County (since 1998), St. Lucie County (since 1996), and the Jupiter Inlet District (since 2001).
