Jim has over 46 years of industry experience, including 20 years as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He has served in an executive management role for a broad range of engineering projects, providing comprehensive staff and project management, development, and oversight for public works, coastal, port and harbor, transportation, and environmental projects.

Jim has been at the helm of Taylor Engineering as president since 2011. He is a professional engineer licensed in Florida, Virginia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a Master’s degree in Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Graduate Certificate from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He is also Board Certified in Coastal Engineering through the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE). He is a USACE deFleury Medal winner.

Laura boasts over 25 years of financial leadership experience with the firm, where she oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. With a deep understanding of the engineering industry, she has successfully guided the firm through complex financial landscapes, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. Laura is committed to fostering financial transparency and operational efficiency, enabling the firm to deliver exceptional value to clients. Laura also oversees the Support Services Group, which includes People & Culture, finance, JV operations, and administrative support staff.

Laura is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Florida and a Certified Management Accountant. She earned her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Rockhurst University in Missouri and a Master’s in Accounting & Tax from the University of North Florida. She has been with Taylor Engineering since 1995.

Ken possesses a unique, experience-based skill set that spans a broad range of coastal zone issues and provides managerial oversight on many of the company’s largest clients and contracts. He has gained extensive practical experience through design of dredging projects in varied environments including rivers, estuaries, inlets, and offshore borrow sites. In addition to leading Taylor’s Dredging & Navigation group, Ken also oversees the Coastal and Marine Geosciences Laboratory, which specializes in the analysis of sediment samples and cores collected from beaches, navigation channels, and dredged material management areas.

Ken is a professional Engineer licensed in Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana and has been with Taylor Engineering since 2004. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering from the University of Florida.

Michael leads Taylor Engineering’s Coastal Strategies group and is charged with developing the next advancements in coastal and riverine flood resiliency – moving communities from planning to action. He serves as project manager on ongoing resiliency studies, development of innovative tools for communities, and larger coastal and water resources projects. He is also project manager for coastal and riverine flood risk studies, Everglades Restoration Program studies, environmental mitigation studies, and other combined riverine and coastal-related projects.

Michael is a professional engineer licensed in the state of Florida and a Certified Floodplain Manager who has been at Taylor Engineering since 1999. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and a Master’s degree in Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering from the University of Florida.

As senior vice president of Taylor Engineering’s waterfront engineering group, Jonathan oversees efforts across a spectrum of activities from feasibility analysis through final design and construction-phase services for a range of projects including marine and waterfront facilities, marine structures, dredging projects, dredged material management facilities, hydraulic control structures, pile foundation structures, erosion control measures, and shore protection installations.  

Jonathan is a professional engineer licensed in Florida, Alabama, and New York and has been with Taylor Engineering for 22 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union in New York and a Master’s degree in Environmental Hydrologic & Hydraulic Engineering from the University of Illinois.

Chris heads Taylor’s Coastal Engineering group, taking a leading role in the simulation and evaluation of hurricane surge, wave mechanics and loading, littoral processes, shoreline protection, and sediment transport. His coastal engineering experience includes use of the following assessment tools: STWAVE, SWAN, SWAN+ADCIRC, REF/DIF-1, MIKE21, SMS, ACES, Beach-fx, GENESIS, and SBEACH as well as numerous desktop assessment techniques.

Chris is a professional engineer licensed in the state of Florida who has been on the Taylor team since 2003. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in Coastal Engineering from the University of Florida. He is also an accredited Diplomate of Coastal Engineering through the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) and serves as a part-time faculty member at the University of North Florida.

Chris brings over 25 years of experience as an environmental scientist, project manager, and team leader supporting a broad range of water-related projects throughout Florida and the southeast. Chris provides environmental expertise including wetland delineation and assessment, habitat characterization, submerged resource surveys, wetland mitigation design and monitoring, ecosystem restoration, regulatory permitting (local, state, and federal), threatened and endangered species consultation support, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, and water and sediment sampling and data evaluation.

Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with emphasis on aquatic resources from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Chris has been with Taylor Engineering since 1999.

Chris Moss’s career has focused on stormwater analysis with a focus on floodplain management. In addition to his role as head of the Water Resources group, he serves as a senior project manager with modeling experience in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), ArcGISPRO, SWMM, and AdICPR. He has managed and executed numerous flood insurance studies for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and has led FEMA Disaster Response Data Analytics Cell task orders.

He is a professional engineer licensed in Florida, South Carolina, and Texas and a Certified Floodplain Manager. Chris holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kentucky. Chris was part of the Taylor Engineering team from 1998-2012 and rejoined us in 2021.

Jennifer Moss’s career has focused on floodplain mapping and flood risk management from geospatial analysis through program management. She is a nationally recognized professional, dedicated to building partnerships aimed at providing comprehensive flood hazard and risk information for the nation. Her experience managing stakeholders, building cross-functional teams, overseeing financials and budgets, and formulating strategic plans along with her distinctive skill set, blending science, engineering, policy, engagement, and spatial analysis, has paved the way for successful program and project management and service delivery to federal, state, and municipal clients.

Jennifer holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees of Science (Geography) from the University of Regina. Jennifer was part of the Taylor Engineering team from 2004-2006 and rejoined us in 2024.

Kiley is the People & Culture Director at Taylor Engineering, leading the human resources department. Her experience includes recruiting, talent management, program development, training, presentations, and organization. She earned her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Auburn University, with a focus in human resources management. Kiley earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification in 2012 and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) since 2015. Prior to joining Taylor Engineering in 2021, Kiley worked in Human Resources in IT staffing and the industrial real estate industries for eleven years.

Carla joined Taylor Engineering in 1987, first as an administrative assistant, later as an engineering technician and director, and then moved back to the corporate side as an officer and corporate administrator in 2004.  Her experience has earned her a keen appreciation of both the technical and the administrative requirements of the company and its project activities.
