Community Involvement

Taylor Engineering encourages, supports, and rewards staff membership and active involvement in many local community, national, and international organizations committed to the community and diversity. Selected examples of our commitment to diversity within the community and beyond include support of, and participation in, the ACE Mentor Program of America, Engineers without Borders, Rico Mack Scholarship Fund, Florida Engineering Society K-12 Program, Taylor Engineering Research Institute, and Taylor Engineering academic scholarships. We support our community through donations, board participation, and several mentoring volunteers.

In 2006, to exemplify the company’s values and commitment to technical excellence, Taylor Engineering pledged $1,000,000 to support the institute. A not-for-profit organization, the Research Institute will perpetually fund, through interest and grants, research and development in coastal and water resource engineering and science. The institute provides a vehicle for researchers in industry, government, and academia to advance the understanding of the principles key to these disciplines, as well as to develop the advanced tools necessary to apply this understanding. As a public-private partnership, the Taylor Engineering Research Institute also demonstrates the company’s values in community involvement and its desire to share its success with the community.
